Reference The Mayan Calendars

All calendars are the same: they count cycles in days!
Depending on the duration of the calendar, we can see pattern. Every 7 days we have a week, every 30 or 31 days we have a month, every 364 days we got a year. We have grouped our yearly calendar in a week calendar and a monthly calendar.

The classic Mayans used more then 20 different calendars!

Before we go and examine the calendars, we need to understand their time units.Starting with the smallest unit which is a KIN(Day), their system went on to count time back to the Big Bang...!

1 Kin = 1 day
1 Uinal = 20 Kin
1 Tun = 18 Uinals
1 Katun = 20 Tun
1 Baktun = 400 Tun
1 Piktun = 8000 Tun
1 Kalabtun = 160,000 Tun
1 Kinchiltun = 3,200,000 Tun
1 Alautun = 64,000,000 Tun
1 Hablatun = 1,280,000,000 Tun

Big Numbers? Ok! The relation of the units is 20 fold except for the TUN which is not 20 x 20 days but 18x20 days.
This is the most common calendar, the HAAB calendar. It has 18 uinals (units of 20 days)for a total of 360 days.

The magic Tzolkin Calendar: This is really the smallest time span covered by a mayan calendar. It is composed of 13 uinals(units of 20 days) for a total of 260 days. This calendar is the unifying, common pulse of all calendars and is syncronized with all other cycles. The Tzolkin is counting uninterrupted a time span called the GREAT CYCLE. This is the complete duration of the National cycle including the planetary, galactical and the universal cycle. The GREAT CYCLE started Aug. 11 3114 BC and finishes Dec.21 2012 or it started Jun. 17 3115 BC and finishes Oct.28 2011.

The Haab Calendar: This is composed of 18 months of 20 days plus one month of five days.

Creation Schedule: The real value of the Mayan calendars reveals only after relating the exponential longer time spans of the other cycles. Fractal! Each 13th element contains all 13 elements of the next smaller cycle in it.

There are three possible end dates: Oct.28.2011, most likeley Dec.21 2012 or Dec.23 2012

Book of Revelation 21:4:
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away."

The book of Chilam Balam of Tizimin:
"Presently Baktun 13 shall come sailing, figuratively speaking, bringing the ornaments of which I have spoken, from their anchestors. Then the god will come to visit his little cones. Perhaps "After Death" will be the subject of his discourse"

What about that? Any comments are welcome!
